Jordan's refinery seeks USD 1.6bn for expansion project

(MENAFN) The Jordan Petroleum Refinery Co. (JPRC) proclaimed that it will secure and attract strategic partners to apply a project in order to expand the capacity of the kingdom's refinery.

Moreover, after securing the funds for the USD 1.6bn project, it will take four years to be finished, which is an essential project.

Additionally, the expansion requires increasing the refinery's capacity from 70,000 barrels per day to 120,000 barrels per day.

The main objective of the project is to stop producing high sulfur fuel oil, which will also help meet rising demand on fuel that views a 3 percent increase annually.
