Jordan- Heat wave forecast to tapper off Tuesday


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, May 17 (Petra) -- A slight drop in temperatures is forecast Tuesday as the heat wave that started to affect the Kingdom earlier this week begins to subside. Therefore, it will be relatively hot in most parts of the Kingdom and hot in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea.

According to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), winds will be northwesterly moderate to brisk blowing dust in the afternoon mainly in the Badia region.

Another drop in temperatures is forecast on Wednesday and Thursday, but similar weather conditions will remain in most regions. Winds will be northwesterly moderate to brisk stirring dust in the desert areas, the JMD said.

Temperatures expected in the capital and other parts of the country for today will exceed thirties during daytime, while mercury levels in the Gulf of Aqaba will hit 40 degrees Celsius plunging to 22 degrees at night, JMD daily brief said.
