UAE- Dar Al Ber Charity honours 107 full Quran memorisers

DUBAI, 16th May, 2016 (WAM) -- Dar Al Ber Society has honoured 107 full Quran memorisers as part of its 8th celebration of the Al Ber Quran Memorisation Project for boys at its headquarters on the Sheikh Zayed road.

The list of honourees included 92 students who have successfully passed the annual examination held this year under the theme 'The best of you learns the Quran and teaches it to others'.

Of these three who cleared level-5 after memorising the Quran in full, as well as six in level-4 for memorising 20 parts of the Quran, 12 in level-3 who memorised 12 parts, 20 in level-2 after memorising six parts, and 49 in level-1 who memorised two parts of the Quran.

The 15 students, who secured advanced positions in the Shaikha Hind bint Maktoum Quran contest this year, were also honoured. Those included four affiliates, and 11 graduate memorisers of the Al Ber Program. Three parents were also honoured in appreciation of their commitment to encourage their children to learn the Quran.

The three members of the arbitration committee, spanning Jassim Mohammed Al Meri, Ahmed Saad Mahmoud, and Mohammed Ameen Nawala were also honoured.

Dar Al Ber has also honoured the strategic sponsors and partners of the Award, including the Dubai International Holy Quran Award, the department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities, along with the Al Moosa Investment Group, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, let alone 26 of Dar Al Ber staffers.

The celebration agenda started with some verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a documentary on the most significant achievements of the Al Ber Quran Memorisation.

Khalfan Khalifa Al Mazrouie, Chairman of Dar AL Ber Society, said, in a speech delivered by Imran Mohammed Abdullah, head of charity projects sector, that the project is one of the key schemes of Dar Al Ber Society.

"Our competent staff Quran memorisation offered classes for free under the project, and fulfil all the students' needs of Quran copies, books, pencils, and notebooks."

Students go through intensive learning sessions to master the Holy Quran memorisation and recitation as due, he added. "Students with excellent performance have had precious chances to participate in so many local and international competitions."

Adding, he said Dar Al Ber also runs a special trip for listed students to encourage them to learn the Quran. "Regular celebrations are organised as well to honour brilliant memorisers."

So far this year, students of the Al Ber Quran Memorisation Project, have participated in seven international Quran contests, he pointed out. "We are really proud of their exceptional achievements, as was the case in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan Quran awards in which our students seized advanced ranks."
