Lulu wins 'Retailer of the Year Oman 2016' award

Lulu Hypermarket, the largest retail chain in the GCC region, has bagged the 'Retailer of the Year Oman 2016' award for the fifth year running at the coveted Distree Middle East 2016 Events.

The event was held from May 10-12 at the Fairmont Bab al Bahr in Abu Dhabi. The award recognises Lulu's achievements and its overall contribution to the development of the consumer technology retail channel. Zohair Jamali, senior buyer Electronics & Home Appliances (Oman) was also declared the Retail Executive of the year at the function.

Distree Middle East operates a number of award programmes across a number of categories to celebrate the best in technology, innovation, channel excellence and business performance. The awards were announced after strict evaluation of hundreds of nominations received. The nominations were then reduced to a shortlist of seven exceptional executives. The event brought together hundreds of senior executives and buyers from the region's leading consumer technology retailers and e-tailers.

During the three-day event, exhibiting vendors and distributors were offered a chance to hold one-on-one meetings with buyers from across the region.

Distree Middle East 2016 attracted more than 500 delegates, and featured more than 1,500 pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings. The event also included the 'Middle East Retail Academy (MERA): 2016 Awards', which recognise the performance of outstanding retailers and distributors through a combination of executive and company awards.
