Ajman Municipality briefed on best government practices in Dubai


(MENAFNEditorial) UAE, May 15, 2016 - A delegation from Ajman''s Municipality and Planning Department headed by Mr. Khaled Al Hosani, Executive Director of Support Services, recently visited Smart Dubai Government Establishment (SDG). The delegation was briefed on SDG''s best government practices in the field of evaluating government websites and electronic and smart services as part of sharing knowledge among government entities. The delegation included Mr. Rashid Bani Hashim, Director of Communication and Corporate Marketing Management, Mr. Marwan Al Muhairi, Director of Project Management Office, Mr. Yousef Al Shaiba, Director of Smart Services Development Administration, and a number of section heads.

The delegation was also briefed on the smart shared services provided by SDG to the government entities and on the government service bus (GSB), which is aimed at providing the shared infrastructure to enable government entities to conduct the processes necessary for the integration of government services. These act as an intermediary system among government services and allows a set of shared services such as exchanging data and information security and verifying the user''s identity.

The smart transformation measurement and indicators were later showcased with the delegation briefed on the unified government services repository and the quality evaluation of websites and electronic & smart services. The delegation also listened to an explanation about MyID, which enables a single sign-on to more than 640 services provided by 15 government entities so far participating in the service, using single username and password.

Later, the delegation was briefed on the electronic messaging system, which contributes to raising the efficiency of internal work in terms of electronic management and exchange of correspondence with participating entities with the aim of ensuring electronic connection and integration among government entities.

Stressing the importance for government entities to exchange experiences, H.E. Wesam Al Abbas Lootah, CEO of SDG, said: ''This visit comes as part of the mutual co-operation among government entities to be able to directly benefit from the experiences of one another. We were happy to host the delegation from Ajman''s Municipality and Planning Department and will spare no effort to offer our constant expertise.''
