China's key firms show commitment reduce pollution

(MENAFN) In a crucial move to address the ever-growing air pollution, three steel manufacturers in the eastern province of Shandong sealed deals earlier this week with Republic of Korea (ROK) environment technology firms.

Taishan Steel, Weifang Special Steel Group and Jinan Steel have collaborated with environment technology firms KC Cottrell, POSCO ICT, J-E Tech in respective agreements totaling USD12.6 million to reduce dust from their steel mills.

The authorities are increasingly prioritizing environment protection an alternative industry driving sustainable growth as industrial goods manufacturing has been a top contributor to the smog that often covers much of China during winter.

Moreover, pollution is one aspect of the broader topic of environmental issues in China. Various forms of pollution have increased as China has industrialized, which has caused widespread environmental and health problems.
