UAE students told to inspire happiness logo


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Thousands of children will be called upon to collectively inspire the logo of the UAE's National programme for Happiness and Positivity, Minister of State for Happiness Ohood Al Roumi announced on Sunday.

Al Roumi's announcement was made during a visit to the Mahra bint Ahmed School in Ras Al Khaimah and the American Academy in Dubai accompanied by Minister of State for Public Education Jameela bint Salem Al Muhairi, and is designed to instill the values of happiness and positivity among UAE school students.

"Children represent the future of the UAE, and this initiative will help foster a culture of happiness and the spirit of positive and collective participation. The initiative also instills the sense of creating their own future and being responsible," Al Roumi said.

Al Roumi added that the initiative is in line with the directive of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of encourage children to participate in the effort to spread happiness and positivity in their communities, which, in turn, will enable them to shape the future of happiness in the UAE as they see it, and noted that children have a rich imagination and positive spirit that will be reflected in the logo ideas.

"I will personally review all the works taking into consideration the design of the National Programme for Happiness and Positivity logo and other related initiatives in the UAE," she said.

Jameela bint Salem Al Muhairi, Minister of State for Public Education, said: "It is a pleasure to work in cooperation with the Minister of State for Happiness in the campaign that involves most UAE schools to design the logo.

"The initiative supports our efforts to create activities that promote positive behaviour among students and achieve the government's vision of the future," Al Muhairi added.

At Mahra Bint Ahmed School in RAK, both Al Muhairi and Al Roumi witnessed a number of shows revolving around happiness, including a musical show titled the Happiest Nation on Earth.

The ministers also visited the American Academy at Al Mizhar in Dubai where they watched a musical show put up by the school band and participated in the students' project, 'Drawing & Design'.

The initiative to inspire the design of the logo of the National Programme for Happiness and Positivity is an opportunity to expand the imagination of the UAE children and enable them to express their understanding of happiness and positivity, as opposed to competition.
