GCC post officials discuss development plans


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) JEDDAH, May 15 (KUNA) -- Heads and undersecretaries of the Gulf Cooperation Council's (GCC) post service discussed during their 31st meeting here Sunday future programs and plans to develop the post service field in the region.

The meeting also discussed the executive list for the joint GCC law on regulating the works of post companies and institutions, assistant undersecretary for post department at Kuwait's Ministry of Communications Mojeb Al-Dousari told KUNA.

The meeting's agenda also involved establishing a joint GCC post service company and a committee to monitor electronic trade, he added.

Moreover, they discussed organizing exhibitions for postal stamps every two years and participating in different workshops and training courses for those working in the field, said Al-Dousari.

On the sideline of the meeting, a GCC stamps exhibition kicked off today to showcase postal stamps issued for special occasions by the Gulf states in the past few years. (end) nh.ag
