Kuwait and Japan willing to enhance comprehensive partnership

TOKYO, 14th May, 2016 (WAM) -- Kuwait and Japan have confirmed their willingness to enhance the friendly, cooperative and mutually beneficial "Comprehensive Partnership" between the two countries through progressive implementation in a broader range of fields such as politics, economy and culture.

The Kuwaiti News Agency has quoted the joint statement issued at the wrapping-up of Prime Minister of Kuwait, H.H. Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah's official visit to Japan, in which both sides stressed their for deepening mutual understanding of their respective foreign policies on a wide range of global and regional issues.

They expressed satisfaction with bilateral relations between Japan and the State of Kuwait, appreciating the significance of the state visit of Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, to Japan in March 2012, and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's visit to Kuwait in August 2013.

They further underlined their intention for deepening mutual understanding of their respective foreign policies on a wide range of global and regional issues, according to the statement.

On global and regional issues, Kuwait and Japan emphasised the close correlation between the stability of East Asia and the stability of the Middle East.
