Oman- Majis, Orpic sign pact on waste treatment, recycling

Majis Industrial Services and Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company (Orpic) on Wednesday signed an agreement for an industrial liquid waste treatment and recycling facility with a capacity of 10,000 m3 per day.

The agreement covers all Orpic's manufacturing units at Sohar Industrial Port. The agreement was signed by Eng Ahmed bin Saif al Mazrouie, CEO of Majis Industrial Services and Eng Mosab bin Abdullah al Mahrouqi, CEO, Orpic. Eng Mazrouie said that the first-of-its-kind pact in Oman will help save marine environment and electricity consumption in industrial water production.

He added that the company has a mandate to provide companies operating in its concession areas with sustainable and environment-friendly solutions at competitive prices. The agreement will pave the way for ensuring optimum benefit from recycling of industrial waste and reducing electricity consumption by around 50 per cent.
