The Ministry of Tourism (MoT) will be launching the second edition of 'Discover Oman's Beauty' summer campaign for nationals and residents.

The campaign will begin with a three-day exhibition at Muscat City Centre, Seeb, this month which will see hotels and tour operators showcasing their packages and summer offers.

The campaign aims to promote domestic tourism by offering exciting packages at competitive prices by leading local tour operators and hotels, stated a press release.

Salim Adi al Mamari, director general for tourism promotion at MoT, said, 'For tourism to be a sustainable resource, it is important for the country to be viewed as a year-long destination and the summer campaign is intended to do just that.

'We want to bring to fore what Oman has to offer in summers and encourage both nationals and regional tourists to explore the vibrant nation and enjoy vacation with their families in many of the cooler parts of the sultanate. We are very happy with the response we have received from our local partners and the offers for this campaign.'

MoT has also launched a microsite especially for the campaign, www.omansummer.com which will run from May to September. In addition visitors can check hashtags on ministry's Facebook (TourismOman) and Twitter pages (OmanTourism): #summerinOman. Meanwhile, Sayyid Adel Mirdas al Busaidi, tourism affairs advisor in MoT met an Italian delegation led by Leoluca Orlando, Mayor of Palermo on Wednesday.

The delegation's visit coincides with a show, which will be held from May 11-14, at the Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) by the Maseo ensemble that is based in Palermo. Orlando will be the guest of honour at ROHM.
