Beijing, Sha'ban 5, 1437, May 12, 2016, SPA -- At least 66 people were killed and 10 more were
missing after heavy rain triggered floods and landslides in China's
eastern, southern and southwestern areas, dpa reported.
More than 95,000 people were evacuated, the official Xinhua news agency reported late Wednesday.
An estimated 5,200 houses collapsed and 74,000 were damaged in the affected regions, Xinhua cited the Ministry of Civil Affairs as saying.
Direct economic losses so far were estimated at 5.33 billion yuan (814 million dollars) according to the ministry.
