Qatar- Cabinet approves draft changes to GCC unified customs tariff


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs H E Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud chaired the Cabinet’s weekly meeting at the Emiri Diwan yesterday.

Following the session, he said the Cabinet reviewed topics on the agenda and took decisions. The Cabinet approved a draft decree amending the GCC unified customs tariff.

It also approved a draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) on tourism cooperation between Qatar and Kuwait; and a draft agreement on avoidance of double taxation and prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income between Qatar and Turkey and the draft protocol attached thereto.

The meeting also approved a draft agreement on economic, trade and technical cooperation between Qatar and Serbia.

The meeting took decisions after reviewing a memo by the Foreign Minister and President of Qatar’s Committee for Alliance of Civilisations on the annual report on implementation Qatar’s plan for 2015, a letter by the Minister of Municipality and Environment on the Cabinet’s draft decision amending the organisation of some administrative units of the ministry its terms of reference; and a letter by the Minister of Municipality and Environment on a draft decision of the Minister, amending some provisions of Law No. 83 of 2011 regarding family housing zones.
