India- Tamil Nadu MSMEs find DMK's election manifesto better than AIADMK's

(MENAFN- KNN India) Tamil Nadu is all set to go for elections in the next few days and the leading parties in the state have come out with their election manifestos. The MSMEs in the state seem to be little disappointed with the AIADMK’s election promises in comparison to DMK’s promises.

Stating that AIADMK’s manifesto does not have much for the MSMEs, Tamil Nadu Small and Tiny Industries Association (TANSTIA) President C Muthasami told KNN, “Jayalalitha led AIADMK did not announce much in the election manifesto, whereas the DMK led by Karunanidhi promised to have single window clearances within 90 days.”

TANSTIA president, however, said that despite whichever party wins, the association always supports the state government for the development of the industry.

Muthasami said, “We don’t know who is winning the elections, and till the time the result is out we can’t say anything.”

“Whoever wins the election, we will go and meet them to discuss the promises made by them in the manifesto for faster implementation of the same,” said the President.

“We will approach the ruling party after the elections,” he said.

In the election manifesto, Amma – as she is popularly known as – has promised to establish Amma Collateral Guarantee fund with Rs. 100 crore principal.

Apart from this, Amma has also promised that 20% land in the SME industrial parks will be reserved for SC/ST entrepreneurs.

But the State MSMEs are not happy with announcements, and said that AIADMK has not much announcements, whereas DMK promised for the 90 single window clearances.

For traditional sectors, AIADMK chief has promised to establish new textile parks and silk parks and provide 200 units free electricity for handloom weavers.

Also, Amma has promised not to allow FDI in retail in the state and establish Special Economic Zones in second-tier cities.

Announcing benefits in Power, which is one of the most crucial sector affecting the voters, Amma has promised 100 units electricity free every two months and has also assured uninterrupted supply of power. (KNN Bureau)
