Lebanon's abundance of Roman and Byzantine mosaics

BEIRUT May 11 (KUNA) -- Lebanon is rich with archeological artifacts with hundreds of mosaics that go back to Roman and Byzantine eras.
These works were made for Palace floors in the Roman era; and as walls in churches in the Byzantine era.
Beit al-Din museum in As shouf in Mount Lebanon and the National Museum in Beirut contain the biggest collection of mosaic. (end) ayb.mar
