India- Cochin to host International Bunker Trade meet on Friday

(MENAFN- KNN India) The third annual international bunker meet “Destination Cochin” hosted by Cochin Port will be held on Friday. The Cochin Port has been focusing on bunker trade for the last three years and has registered 47% growth in this trade in FY 2015-16.

Investors from South Asia and Gulf would attend meet Ministry of Shipping said in a statement.

The meet will be attended by investors from South Asia and Gulf who are basically established vendors in these areas.

The speakers for the sessions include trade experts in bunker quality infrastructure and commerce from Singapore UAE and India. Directors of oil majors IOCL BPCL and HPCL and Indian market leaders are participating in the highly interactive meet.

The Port has single window facility operating round the clock. The bunker facility is operational during monsoon as well as non-monsoon seasons as the vendors have arranged MS class barges which facilitate outside port limit supply to vessels transiting by the off shore shipping channel.

The Cochin Customs also facilitates 24 hour permissions for bunker supply. The VAT rate at 5% for supply to coastal vessels makes Cochin the most economic vending station in India. (With PIB Inputs)
