UAE- Ataya Charity Exhibition receives AED3.4 million on second day

ABU DHABI 10th May 2016 (WAM) -- The Higher Organising Committee for Ataya has announced it received donations worth AED3.4 million on the second day of the 5th edition of Ataya Charity Exhibition.

The proceeds of the exhibition will be allocated to build five schools in Socotra Archipelago in Yemen Egypt Mauritania Afghanistan and the Philippines.

Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan Sheikha Fatima bint Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Zayed bin Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited the charity event which will conclude on Thursday at IPIC Arena Abu Dhabi.

Over 105 exhibitors from 11 countries are showcasing their products at the exhibition of which 40 are local. The exhibition features 10 restaurants clothes accessories antiques decorative pieces and furniture.

Hind Al Mehairbi Director of Marketing and Public Relations Department at the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) said the donation was made by philanthropists and visitors.

She said the sponsorship of event by H.H. Sheikha Shamsa bint Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan wife of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the (ERC) who is also Assistant to the ERC Chairman for Humanitarian Affairs and Chairperson of the Ataya's Higher Organising Committee made it an annual charity occasion.
