Qatar- HMC opens Home Healthcare Services' branch in Al Khor

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) DOHA: Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has opened Home Healthcare Services’ branch office in Al Khor to serve patients in the north of Qatar.

It will provide administrative support for patients and families from Al Khor and the surrounding region and serve as a base from which healthcare teams will conduct home visits.

Minister of Public Health H E Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari said the new office is part of a larger planned expansion of community-based health services across the country. “Goal one in the National Health Strategy is to shift the balance of care towards a preventative model and develop community-based settings that ensure access to the right care in the right setting at the right time. “The office is an excellent example of the strategy in action and will benefit those who require these services” she added.

Mahmoud Al Raisi Chief of Continuing Care Group HMC said the premier public healthcare provider has opened several community-based services for long-term care mental health and home-based care.

“During the past 18 months HMC has established community-based facilities to serve the growing population including Enaya Specialised Care Centre Enaya Continuing Care Centre in Muaither and an overall expansion of community-based mental health services. “The office in Al Khor continues this trend of bringing services closer to the community” said Al Raisi.

Home Healthcare Services include home visits by doctors nurses and allied health professionals who perform medical support procedures including oxygen administration catheter changes and respiratory physical occupational and speech therapies and other services. Patients or family members can request Home Healthcare Services and related home healthcare resources by referral from their doctor. The service is available from 7am to 3pm from Sunday to Thursday.
