Prince Faisal opens SOFEX 2016

Amman 9th May 2016 (WAM) - Prince Faisal Bin Al Hussein on Monday patronized the opening of Special Operations Commanders Conference (SOFEX 2016) in the presence of the King's Adviser for Military Affairs Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mashal Mohammad Al Zabin officials and military commanders form countries participating in the fair.

In a speech Al Zabin said: "This year's exhibition coincides with the Kingdom's celebrations of the Great Arab Revolt centennial Jordan's most important stage in history." The army chief spoke about traditional and non-traditional threats facing the international community and the need to address them with the use of advanced technology.

The conference included several sessions and workshops that discussed topics related to the performance of special forces on the battlefield according to Jordan News Agency Petra.

Earlier today His Majesty King Abdullah II received separately a number of military officials whose countries are taking part in SOFEX 2016.

The meetings discussed friendship and cooperation relations between Jordan and these countries in various fields especially in military and defense spheres.
