(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman May 9 (Petra) -- Authorities are investigating the death of a 25-year-old man who they say hanged himself while being held prisoner on Monday at the Marka Correctional and Rehabilitation Centre said the Public Security Department.
It added that correctional officers found the inmate who was being held on charges of murder in "poor health condition" in his cell before calling emergency medical service.
The victim is believed to have hung himself using his own bed linens prison officials said.
They also added he was transferred to a medical center at the correctional facility where he was pronounced dead.
The incident is being investigated by the competent authorities.
