DUBAI May 8 (KUNA) -- A Chinese diplomat on Sunday underscored the significance of Sino-Kuwaiti ties saying ties between both nations are smoothly progressing on all fronts. China's Deputy Consul General in Dubai Ma Xiao Liang made the comments in a statement to KUNA after participating in a workshop organized by Kuwait's Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) with Kuwait's Consul General in Dubai Thiab Farhan Al-Rashidi in attendance.
Kuwait was the first Gulf nation to forge bilateral ties with China Liang said describing those ties as "exceptionally friendly." China values the investment opportunities provided by Kuwait to the country's businessmen he noted.
Moreover the Chinese diplomat called Kuwait "an integral member of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)" saying that would contribute to enhancing Beijing's ties with GCC nations.
KDIPA's Assistant Director General of Development Affairs Mohammad Yaqoub said that the workshop has achieved its objectives of bringing to Chinese businessmen's attention the ample investment opportunities available in Kuwait.
Kuwait is amongst a select few of nations that permit a foreign investor to fully own a national company part of a revamped investment structure Yaqoub said.
"This has created an incentive for investors to select Kuwait as a primary investment hub" he added. (end) smr.nam
