Qatar- HE Deputy Premier Inaugurates Education Conference 2016


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Doha May 07 (QNA) - Under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed Abdullah Al Mahmoud has inaugurated the Education Conference 2016.
The two-day conference is organized by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education at Qatar National Convention Centre under the slogan 'Learning Leadership: Contemporary Visions'.
HE Al Mahmoud also opened the ' professional teaching' exhibition which offers educational solutions for teachers in the leadership of learning and education processes in accordance with modern teaching trends.
HE the Deputy Premier accompanied by the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulwahed Al Hammadi toured the different pavilions of the exhibition and was briefed on its contents including teaching aids technological solutions programmes and activities provided to different age groups of students.
HE Al Mahmoud said in remarks that this is an important conference as it provides an opportunity for exchanging scientific expertise and experiences in the field of education pointing out that through the conference's workshop papers and discussion panels participants will reach the best means to utilize these experiences and develop them.
HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs lauded the great progress Qatar has achieved in the field of education under the wise leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani citing in this regard the speeches of His Highness on the importance of improving education in the State of Qatar. He pointed out that the Qatar National Vision 2030 was clear in its objectives in terms of the development of education and human wealth and in terms of developing knowledge through which society can bring about the desired progress and goals of the National Vision 2030.
He reiterated that the Qatar's leadership led by HH the Emir attaches great importance to education stressing the need to work on the development of society as stated in the Qatar National Vision 2030.

Addressing the opening session of the conference HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Mohammed Abdul Wahed Al-Hammadi hailed HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's outstanding and continuous support for the education sector. Support that stems from His Highness's faith in the education's great role in achieving sustainable human development HE the Minister saidstressing that the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Minister Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani of the conference is a clear indication of keenness.
HE Dr. Al Hammadi noted that the theme of the conference 'Learning Leadership: Contemporary Visions' affirms deep belief in the importance of education leadership being the foundation to the progress and success of educational process.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Education and Higher Education strives to refine the scientific personality of students and its foundation of logical thinking analysis and brainstorming far from the old traditional methods which are based on rote memorization of information.
HE the minister inferred to Qatar's tireless efforts on this road by the necessary facilities it has provided including buildings variety of services public sources of learning programs initiatives competitions and awards.
The Education Conference this year focuses on a number of important educational issues including modern educational leadership and its role in quality management the concept of education centred on the 21st century skills for enabling and developing teachers role in the educational process proposals for the application of the current education system educational solutions applicable in the classroom and special education in terms of reflections and future visions about the best local and international educational practices in the development of teaching thinking and care for people with disabilities and the gifted people in addition to other related educational issues.
The conference features some 104 training programs 9 lectures 16 working papers and 46 distinct educational practice. (END)
