Kuwait- IICO honors 114 Quran learners in Tunisia


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TUNIS May 7 (KUNA) -- In collaboration with the Tunisian Marhama charity 'Al-Shafi'' (intercessor) project of the International Islamic Charity Organization (IICO) held Saturday evening a graduation ceremony for 114 Tunisian persons males and females who completed learning the Holy Quran by heart.

The ceremony gathered Kuwait Ambassador to Tunisia Ali Al-Thafiri and director of Al-Shafi' project Khaled Al-Qassar.

Ambassador Al-Thafiri appreciated the IICO efforts for caring for the Quran learners.

He said in statements to KUNA and Kuwait TV. that the project delivers one of the most noble and humanitarian messages of Islam through encouraging the young people to learn the Holy Quran by heart.

"The project contributes to bringing the peoples of Kuwait and Tunisia closer to each other thus promoting cooperation in all fields" he said reaffirming Kuwait's support to Tunisia in all areas.

Meanwhile Al-Qassar said the project reflects one the humanitarian aspects of Kuwait - the world's center of humanitarian action under the leadership of His Highness Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah - the humanitarian leader.

He noted that this is the first activity of the project in Tunisia.

The IICO launched Al-Shafi' project in 2011 and since then the project has helped 4500 people in 21 countries to learn Quran by heart. (end) ksj.gb
