UAE- Joyalukkas Group to open showrooms in the US

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The man with the Midas touch Joy Alukkas dropped out of school to go to the Middle East to open the family's first overseas store in 1987 in Abu Dhabi. The Joyalukkas brand now has outlets spread across India and the Middle East South East Asia and the UK. Other interests include money exchange malls textiles luxury aviation and real estate.

The gold and diamond retail jewellery chain is now planning a US foray.

"We plan to open seven showrooms in the US. In the next two months we have three showroom openings in Chicago New Jersey and Houston. We will open two more showrooms in Saudi Arabia one in Singapore and another outlet in Malaysia" said Joy Alukkas chairman and managing director of Joyalukkas Group.

Alukkas added: "Six years ago gold prices hovered near $1920. Today it is hovering around $1290 to $1300. It will take time to go back to previous levels again."
