King Abdullah highlights strong ties between Jordan and UAE

AMMAN 5th May 2016 (WAM) - His Majesty King Abdullah II highlighted the strong ties between Jordan and the UAE in various domains on Thursday.

Jordan's official news Agency PETRA quoted King Abdullah as saying during a meeting with Speaker of the UAE Federal National Council (FNC) Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi that the legislative institutions in both countries play an important role in enhancing coordination consultations and cooperation as well as the exchange of expertise and visits to achieve common interests.

Talks during the meeting which was attended by Jordanian Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh also dealt with regional developments and addressing them to bring about security and stability for the region and its peoples as well as efforts by both Jordan and the UAE to achieve these developmental goals.

Additionally Al Qubaisi conveyed to King Abdullah II the greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and their wishes for further progress and prosperity to the people of Jordan.

She also praised the strong relations between the UAE and Jordan the foundation of which was laid by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late King Hussein bin Talal.

Al Qubaisi further voiced appreciation for the advanced level Jordan has reached in enhancing the role of women in various fields and thanked King Abdullah for patronising the 2016 Women in Parliaments Global Forum (WIP) in Amman.

Al Qubaisi is currently visiting the Kingdom to attend the 2016 WIP Global Forum.
