Qatar Today announces second edition of business excellence awards

DOHA: Qatar Today has announced the second edition of its Business Excellence Awards.

The event being held under the auspices of Qatar Stock Exchange will identify and felicitate the top performing companies on the bourse in 2015.

This year’s ranking is based on performance and utilises key financial metrics and ratios. The underlying data is sourced from Capital IQ (one of the stock market database vendors operating under McGraw Hill) and the Qatar Stock Exchange. The weighted average mechanism considers performance of all companies on QSE for three years with focus on current financial results.

Weights assigned to financial metrics by QT comprises share price growth (20 percent) dividend yield (20 percent) liquidity (20 percent) return on equity (15 percent) revenue growth (10 percent) and net margin (15 percent).

Liquidity has been estimated by having reference to annual number of transactions and volume traded compared with shares outstanding.
