Tunis Rajab 28 1437 May 5 2016 SPA -- Arab Maghrib Union today elected Altayyib Albakkoosh Tunisia's former foreign minister as its new Secretary General replacing Alhabeeb bin Yahya whose tenure has come to an end.
According to the organization's regulations the Secretary General of the Rabat-based organization should be a Tunisian.
The 34th ordinary ministerial council kicked off here today to discuss the latest developments regionally and internationally as well as the role of the union in the regions and how to restructure its departments and mechanisms to cope with the current developments.
