Kuwait- Sheikh Fariha calls for solutions to alleviate sufferings of refugee families


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO May 5 (KUNA) -- President of the Kuwaiti Society for the Ideal Family Sheikha Fariha Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Thursday called for proper solutions to lessen the sufferings of refugee families by continuous financing through legal channels.

Sheikha Fariha made the call in her address to a conference organized by the Arab Women Organization (AWO) in Cairo on the reality and future of displaced and refugee women in the Arab region.

She was pleased that she was invited to the conference that discusses the "cause of the age" as millions of Arab people have been forced to abandon their homes or countries to escape the scourge of war. Old people women and children have become homeless.

This tragedy of displaced and refugee families has created enormous challenges Sheikha Fariha said expressing hope that the Cairo conference would come out with solutions likely to help curb their suffering.

Kuwait has been among the first countries concerned with this humanitarian issue she said.

Sheikha Fariha cited His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's humanitarian initiatives. Kuwait has also hosted several international conferences.

She referred to the UN honoring of His Highness the Amir as a "Humanitarian Leader" and Kuwait as a "Humanitarian Center." (end) ms.msa
