(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Kuwait May 04 (QNA) - Representatives of the three Yemeni parties involved in Kuwait consultations held a second session of the UN-sponsored direct talks this evening.
The negotiating teams of the Yemeni government the General People's Congress and Ansarullah movement focused on the framework put forward by the UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed for a peaceful settlement to the conflict through addressing the political security economic and humanitarian aspects of the crisis reported Kuwait news agency KUNA.
The proposal aims to set in motion a transitional stage based on the UN Security Council Resolution 2216 the GCC initiative for peace and the outcomes of the previous rounds of the Yemeni National dialogue.
The talks also dealt with the activation of the recently-agreed truce monitoring committee the demilitarization of armed groups the release of political detainees and abidance by the political course for settling the crisis.(QNA)
