(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index dropped 84.18 points or -0.85% when the bourse closed trading at 9,854.85 points Wednesday.
The volume of shares was down to 8,831,391 from Tuesday 8,965,527 and the value of shares decreased to QR298,389,462.96 from QR317,934,001.83 on Tuesday.
From the 43 companies listed on QSE, shares of 41 saw trading today. From these 7 gained, 33 closed lower and one remained unchanged.Among the top losers were Qatar Insurance whose share down 2.15% to QR77.50, Al Meera lost 3.23% to QR212.90, Gulf International fell 2.24% to QR32.80 and Qatar Navigation decreased by 2.13% to QR87.10.
The Banking and Financial sector index was dropped -0.44% to 2,673.03 points while Consumer Goods and Services sector index fell -0.52% to 6,423.33 points. The industrial sector lost -0.91% to 3,039.52 points and Insurance sector decreased -1.70% to 4,243.5 points.
