(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Public Works Authority (Ashghal) will put in place a temporary diversion on part of Al Rayyan Al Jadeed Street for a distance of 700 meters near Al Rayyan Police Station in both directions as of Friday and will last for nine months, in coordination with the Traffic Police Department.
During this period, traffic on the closed section of the New Al Rayyan Street will be diverted to a newly constructed road adjacent to the closed road with the same current number of lanes. Access to key public services, such as Al Rawabi Woqod Petrol Station and the Al Rayyan Police Station, will be available through a signal-controlled intersection near Al Busayer Street.
The diversion is required to implement works to the main carriageway and continue utilities works, as part of the first phase of Al Rayyan Road upgrade project, which aims to increase road capacity and enhance the traffic safety in the area. The project includes major works to develop the infrastructure, install Intelligent Transport Systems, in addition to other works.
Ashghal will install road signs advising motorists of the closure and has requested all road users to abide by the speed limits and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
