Qatar Cup final attracts over 1.5 million views on Snapchat

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: The Qatar Stars League announced that its recent Snapchat Live Story for the Qatar Cup final. The showpiece final which is seen as the end of season competition in Qatar attracted over 1.5 million views for the story.

Snapchat users from across the GCC logged in to see exclusive behind the scenes action along with match coverage.

Which culminated in El Jaish lifting their second ever Qatar Cup edging rivals Lekhwiya 2-1thanks to a last minute penalty from striker Abdulrazak Hamdullah.

Over 3000 videos and images where submitted to the story which saw plenty of participation from the 10000 fans who attended the Qatar Cup Final. The Snapchat Live Story was part of a wider social media push from the QSL to engage with football fans in Qatar to encourage them to take part in the Qatar Cup action.

Central to the social media campaign was the Snapchat Live story along with seven key social media ambassadors based in print and broadcast media in Qatar. All of whom took part in the final and delivered extensive coverage for the Snapchat Live Story over the course of the competition.
