Qatar adopts NATO Individual Partnership and Cooperation Programme

BRUSSELS 4th May 2016 (WAM) -- The State of Qatar has approved the Individual Partnership and Cooperation Programme with NATO and handed over the agreement document to its Secretary-General.

According to the Qatar News Agency QNA Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani Qatar's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and Head of Mission of the State of Qatar to the European Union and NATO presented the document to Jens Stoltenberg Secretary-General of NATO Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani delivered a speech during the meeting of the North Atlantic Council with the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative Countries in Brussels where he outlined the positions of Qatar along with its efforts to advance and strengthen the prospects for cooperation between the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative Countries and NATO in addition to the current challenges facing the Arab Gulf region and the Middle East.

The meeting of the North Atlantic Council with the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative Countries in Brussels discussed issues related to regional security terrorism the next NATO summit in Warsaw and ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides.
