Qatar- Katara to stage Greek play for children


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) DOHA: The Short Dragon’s Code a Greek play for children will be staged at the Katara Drama Theatre at 5.30pm from tomorrow until Saturday.

The play is presented by the Cultural Village Foundation-Katara in cooperation with the Embassy of Greece in Doha and Qatar Music Academy and is based on the book of Panayiotis Tsirides. The interactive play will be performed by a group of Greek theatrical artistes within an overwhelming atmosphere of interaction through music and puppet shows.

A 30-minute concert by the Qatar Music Academy’s Youth Orchestra will precede the theatrical play in all the performances.

The play depicts the life of a wise but short dragon living by the river with his friends a female crocodile with an eating obsession and her two siblings each with his own character.

The climax of the play occurs when the dragon stumbles upon an old chest discovers what it hides and ways it will change his friends’ life.

Staged by Amalia Kosma Elena Lamprou Patrikios Kostis Theodosia Savvaki and Marianthi Fotaki the play teaches children the importance of solidarity and collaboration in helping people to overcome all obstacles in a bid to lead happy and prosperous lives.
