Israeli settler gets life sentence for burning Palestinian boy alive


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) GAZA May 3 (KUNA) -- An Israeli court sentenced an extremist Jewish settler for life imprisonment for kidnapping torturing and burning alive Palestinian boy Mohammad Abu Khuder in 2014.

Abu Khuder's family lawyer Mohannad Jabbarah told local Palestinian media that the Israeli court also gave settler Yosef Haim Ben-David additional 20 years for other crimes.

Ben-David was also ordered to pay 150000 shekels (USD 39000) to Abu Khuder's family.

Ahu Khuder was abducted by Haim near his home in Jerusalem and was beaten and his body was later found in a nearby farm in July 2014.

The incident ignited a wave of demonstrations in Palestinian territories and wide-scale international angry reactions. (end) wab.ibi
