UAE- Fujairah supermarket burglar lands in jail


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) A man who broke into three shops in Fujairah to steal cash and products and caused damage to the outlets has been sentenced to three years in prison.

The Fujairah Federal Criminal Court of First instance found the Asian identified as M. Sh guilty and convicted him of burglary and vandalism. The court also ordered him to be deported after serving the jail term.

According to court records security agencies received complaints from three supermarkets in the city that somebody robbed the shops of cash foodstuff and pre-paid telephone cards.

During investigation Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officials found out that the burglar used to break the door of the stores with a sharp object before entering the shop and stealing the valuables.

The CCTV footage in one of the robbed stores showed the robber who was identified and arrested later. When interrogated he confessed to the charges of trespassing robbery and vandalism.

He was referred to the public prosecution and the court sentenced him to three years in jail one year each for each robbery.
