Austria sees high joblessness rate over April


(MENAFN) The Austrian unemployment rate has carried on with its upward trend through April with 1.1pct more people without work year-on-year.

The Public Employment Service Austria (AMS) reported that there are now a total of 424,697 unemployed individuals throughout the country.

Accordingly, the toughest joblessness increases were seen for persons aged 50 and over, climbing 4.6 percent to just under 98,000 people.

However, the surges of young persons, aged 15 to 24, conversely deteriorated 3.8 percent down to a total of 44,457 people, as the Service's data showed.
