Nissan intends to recollect 3mn cars globally

(MENAFN) Nissan Motor Co. intends to recall 3.53 million vehicles worldwide because passenger-side airbags may not work correctly as vehicle sensors could malfunction.

The top Japanese carmaker stated that this is the 4th recall since 2013 to address issues with occupant classification systems, which may fail to properly identify adult front seat passengers.

In more detail, the affected system may incorrectly classify a passenger as a child or as an empty seat and could lead as a result to an airbag failing to deploy in the event of a crash.

Furthermore, the recollection includes all of the 2013-2017 Nissan Altima, Leaf, Maxima, Murano, Pathfinder, Sentra, Rogue, NV200, NV Taxi, Infiniti JX35/QX60, and Q50.
