(MENAFNEditorial) As part of its Education Series the Human Resources Group of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce (www.southshorechamber.org) the region’s largest Chamber will host “Addiction in the Workplace” on Wednesday May 11th at Chamber headquarters 1050 Hingham Street Rockland.
The event slated from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. will address drug and alcohol addiction in the workplace including information about the epidemic of opiate use throughout the country and Massachusetts.
Drug and alcohol use is an issue that can result in a hefty price tag to employers due to on-the-job injuries lost productivity absenteeism and other factors. As an employer it is important to know when and what to do should this difficult situation present itself.
The workshop will feature panelists who will discuss how to identify the warning signs of addiction in the workplace and address legal ramifications regarding workplace drug/alcohol free policies. The panel will cite real life experiences and share outreach options.
