Ford's revenue hits USD37.7b in Q1


(MENAFN) Ford, the American top automaker recorded a total of USD37.7 billion in income throughout the January-March period, beating forecasts.

In accordance, it was the best-ever quarter for the world's 6th largest carmaker, with a pretax profit of USD3.8 billion and gross income of USD2.5 billion.

The US auto market has been booming, as cheap gas, flowing credit, and a stronger economy have all helped automakers sell a lot of profitable pickup trucks and SUVs.

"The 1st quarter was an absolutely terrific start to the year, an all-time record for the company, with very strong performance across the business," stated Ford's CEO.
