Kuwaiti, Jordanian Info. ministers discuss media cooperation
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT May 2 (KUNA) -- Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Sabah discussed here on Monday with Jordan's Minister of State for Media Affairs Dr. Mohammed Al-Momani ways to enhance cooperation in the fields of information and culture between the two countries.
Sheikh Salman stressed during the meeting today the need to develop the strategic role of the Arab media noting that the GCC is seeking to break the typical language and method of the media in order to face current challenges and find a work plan to attract young people.
He said Arab ranks must be unified through a media strategy to work on improving the Arabs' image for the outside world against tendentious campaigns and those with terrorist and extremist ideologies that are distant from Islam's tolerant image.
He praised efforts of King Abdullah II of Jordan and those of leaders of the GCC countries to heal Arab rifts to overcome this critical stage in the history of the Arab nation.
He also praised the expressive speech that was delivered by the Jordanian minister during the opening ceremony of the Arab Media Forum last night describing it as "clear and comprehensive".
For his part Al-Momani expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to Kuwait for the warm reception praising highly the great role of His Highness the Amir the "Humanitarian Leader" who is cherished in every forums as being a role model for Arab youth.
The minister also praised the parental wisdom and role of His Highness the Amir for hosting the intra-Yemeni talks in Kuwait wishing them all the best and success.
He also praised Kuwait's assistance to all needy people around the globe particulary to the Syrians and Jordan for carrying the great burden in light of this crisis and the presence of more than one million Syrian refugees on its soil.(end).
