Wall Street lower as market darling Apple loses shine

The major indexes on Wall Street fell overnight as Apple lost another 3% after falling 6% the previous session.

By the close the Dow Jones had fallen 1.2% to 17831. The S&P 500 gave up 0.9% to 2076 while the NASDAQ was down 1.2% to 4805.

Commodities though performed well.

Crude oil gained with the commodity now up 75% in three months although it is still worth less than half its value of a couple of years ago.

West Texas Intermediate futures settled up 1.5% at US$46.03 a barrel which is a six-month high.

Gold out of New York climbed 1.5% to US$1269 an ounce.
