Ssangyong Motor posts 7pct rise in Sales over April

(MENAFN) Ssangyong Motor Co., the South Korean unit of Indian auto behemoth Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., saw its April sales climb 7.4 percent, based on recent reports.

The reported growth was mainly on the back of strong domestic demand, thus the carmaker sold 13,462 units last month, compared to 12,531 units a year earlier.

Moreover, local sales increased 12.3 percent to 9,133 units through the mentioned period, helped by the continued popularity of the Tivoli crossover SUV.

Throughout the January-April timeframe, the fourth largest South Korea-based automobile manufacturer sold a cumulative 47,128 cars, up 4 percent from a year earlier.
