Sheikh Salman hails six Kuwaiti shooters' achievements


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Minister of Information and State Minister for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem considered the qualification of six Kuwaiti shooters as a sign of consecutive achievements of Kuwait Shooting Sport Club (KSSC) in different sports competitions.

In a press statement at the conclusion of the late Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah Champion Tournament Saturday, which was hosted under his patronage, Sheikh Salman stressed such achievement is the result of the hard work of the chairman and members of the club. He added the club gives importance to different types of shooting sports for various ages.

He thanked all members of the club for organizing such a great tournament in remembrance of the late Sheikh Al-Hamoud, may his soul rest in peace, and to welcome Asian Shooting Union Chairman Sheikh Ali Bin Abdullah Al-Khalifa who attended the event.

On the other hand, KSSC Chairman Eng Daeej Al-Otaibi explained the club has been organizing the tournament for 20 years now with a high level of competition between participants of both genders. He also praised Sheikh Salman Al-Hamoud for his unwavering support for all the activities of the club.

Al-Otaibi asserted that results of the tournament reflected the competitive atmosphere, which clearly indicates the participants' level of preparedness in similar competitions in the future.

Shooter Nasser Al-Daihani took the first place in Skeet Shooting competition, Talal Al-Rashedi won first place in the Turab Competition, while Ahmed Al-Afasi won first place in Dabul Turab competition.

Saad Al-Ajmi won the first place in gun shooting and shooter Abdullah Al-Harbi won the first place in air gun shooting.

Winners in the ladies category included shooter Sarah Al-Hawal who won the first place in Turab Competition, Afrah Adel won the first place in Skeet competition, Asrar Bahman won the first place in gun shooting and Mariam Arzouqi won the first place in air gun competition.
