DOHA: Qatar Chamber will organise the fifth edition of ‘Made in Qatar’ exhibition in Riyadh from November 6 to 9. The exhibition will open new avenues of cooperation between entrepreneurs of Qatar and Saudi Arabia said Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani Chairman of Qatar Chamber speaking at a press conference on Thursday.

He said the number of Qatari participants in the event is yet to be determined and will be announced in the next few days. ‘Made in Qatar’ has gained special importance since its inception in 2009. Saudi Arabia was chosen as the first foreign destination for the exhibition because of very close and brotherly relations between the two countries.

Saudi Arabia is one of the most important trading partners of Qatar and the trade volume between Saudi Arabia and Qatar reached QR6.94bn in 2015.

Sheikh Khalifa said Qatar Chamber will pay for the total cost of the exhibition which is sponsored by a number of companies led by Qatar Development Bank.

The total area of the exhibition will be 10000 metres giving ample space for participants to exhibit their products. Qatar Chamber will also sign a deal with a Saudi company to be in charge of all of the exhibition’s logistics.

The Chairman said the exhibition will see participation of all kinds of companies ranging from Qatar’s biggest companies to small and medium enterprises. The focus of the exhibition will be on Qatari-produced goods especially the newly-produced goods which can be introduced to new markets.

Shiekh Khalifa added one of the efforts to promote Qatari goods will be holding networking events between the Qatari participants and interested Saudi companies. Last year around 200 Qatari companies had participated in the fourth edition of ‘Made in Qatar’ exhibition and the chamber expects more companies to participate in this years’ exhibition.

He called for seizing the ‘Made in Qatar 2016’ opportunity by participating in large numbers. The exhibition will introduce Qatari entrepreneurs to Saudi Arabia’s diverse economy.
