Iran willing to assist Pakistan with electricity outages


(MENAFN) Iran has recently been revealing great interest in offering Pakistan 3,000 MW of electricity to deal with the persistent and continuous power outages, according to the latest reports.

Many top exports from both republics has met and conducted extensive discussions on the matter, and they concluded that the transmission infrastructure development can cost USD1.5bn.

Moreover, the Persian Gulf Islamic Republic has proven its commitment by declaring its keenness to enhance trade with Pakistan up to USD10 billion, but it made it clear that it needs a mutual interest.

Accordingly, Pakistan has indeed shown its joint obligation as three top local banks including the Bank of Punjab, Bank Alfalah and Meezan Bank are actively seeking correspondent relationship with the Iranian authorities.
