Qatar's contributions to Sudan's economic stability praised


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Khartoum: Sudanese Minister of Investment Mudesir Abdul-Ghani yesterday hailed Qatar’s contributions to achieving economic stability in Sudan.

Abdul-Ghani told the Sudanese radio that Qatari investments have made a big leap and enabled Sudan to achieve comprehensive development in various fields especially real estate banking agriculture and animal wealth sectors.

He said Qatar Islamic Bank and Qatar National Bank in Sudan have contributed to the development of the banking sector by facilitating procedural operations in terms of finance and foreign trade.

Qatari Diar Real Estate has provided a successful model for urban investment and real estate development through qualitative outstanding investments and a new vision of expansion including the hotel sector.

He also highlighted achievements of ‘Widam’ Food Company in the field of meat and livestock which promoted the sector to achieve global standards through Sudanese exports. He said Qatari private sector investments have contributed to the development and promotion of the agricultural and livestock sectors in the states of Khartoum River Nile and Northern State and enhanced Sudan’s Arab Food Security Initiative.

So far the number of Qatar-Sudan Archaeological Project has reached 40 foreign and national missions he said adding the implementation of the tourist resorts for the project has made considerable progress in the regions of Begrawiya and Barkal in northern Sudan according to a strategy which will turn Sudan’s tourism sector to an investment sector of high revenues and support economic development.
