102 Qataris gain leadership skills

DOHA: Qatar Leadership Centre (QLC) celebrated achievements of 102 Qatari professionals from various sectors who completed the ‘2015-2016 Executive Rising and Government Leaders programmes’ at the Four Seasons Hotel Doha.

QLC aims at delivering world-class modules conducted with institutions such as Harvard Business School the University of Cambridge Executive Education and the University Of Chicago Booth School Of Business. After the ceremony H E Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani Chairperson Board of Directors QLC highlighted the role of QLC in national development and said: “Leadership development across sectors is integral to achieving the development goals outlined in Qatar National Vision 2030.”

She said participants are empowered to make a difference in Qatar and beyond with the knowledge they gained through networks they formed and the resources available to them through QLC’s accomplished alumni community.

QLC plays an important role in building leaders crucial for the future of our nation it provides and the capabilities it fosters” said Minister of State for Defence Affairs and Vice Chair of the Board of Directors QLC H E Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah. “QLC’s participants and alumni who are at the forefront of diverse fields are making important contributions as the country continues to advance towards realising Qatar National Vision 2030” he added.

QLC is encouraging Qatari professionals to apply their learnings to contribute to the economic social human as well as environmental goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.

Hamad Jabr Alajmi Legal Researcher and Internal Auditor General Authority of Customs who completed the 2015-2016 cycle of QLC’s Government Leaders Programme said “During my time at QLC I have grown my knowledge on the diverse issues facing Qatar and the region while enhancing the skills needed to assume leadership and foster progress”

He added that the programme was unique and a rewarding experience which has not only strengthened his capabilities but also solidified his motivation to take part in realising Qatar’s development goals.

Jaber Ali Al Hedfa CEO Qatar Finance House who completed the 2015-2016 Executive Leaders Programme said “Through my time at QLC I deepened my know-how in areas crucial for my profession and relevant for the ongoing development of Qatar.
