Comcast seeks to takeover DreamWorks for USD3b

(MENAFN) Comcast, the Pennsylvania-based multinational mass media company, is in talks to acquire DreamWorks for over USD3 billion, according to the latest reports.

Purchasing DreamWorks means that the already largest broadcasting and cable firm in the world by revenue would control a huge chunk of the family entertainment sector.

Based on experts' analysis, Comcast could use the larger base to construct out bigger licensing contracts for consumer products and even theme parks based on its movies.

Others have attempted and ultimately failed to buy DreamWorks in recent years, including the Japanese telco SoftBank, but the film production label is keen to find a buyer.
