UAE takes part in Arab symposium on treatment recycling and rationalisation of water consumption in industry

CAIRO 27th April 2016 (WAM) -- The UAE is participating in the three-day Arab Symposium on the Treatment Recycling and Rationalisation of Water Consumption in Industry which opened yesterday in Cairo under the theme "Towards Sustainable Industrial Development".

The event which is being organised by the Arab League Department of Environment Housing Water Resources and Sustainable Development in collaboration with the Regional Office of the Arab Organisation for Industrial Development is being attended by representatives of concerned authorities in Arab countries along with representatives of industrial companies organisations and joint Arab action institutions.

Arif Ahmed Bourhamah Director of Water Assets Management in the Federal Electricity and Water Authority and Hisham Mahmoud Mohamed Senior Engineer are representing the UAE in the symposium and the Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation FNRC is also taking part.

Over three days the symposium will discuss a number of working papers that address a range of themes including the integrated management of water resources how to reduce water pollution through legislation and laws the development of strategies and the role of civil society in raising awareness about the importance of rationalising consumption.
